What Does Rome Mean To Me?
The real answer is that Rome is a backdrop to several good stories, and a lot of history. Most of which has become irrelevant … downright embarrassing.
Saying that, the seat of the Roman Church has always been inconvincing in its piety and quite obviously a haven or the worst of the priestlies. The “Reformed Churches” have less presumptuous dispensers of religion. The Orthodox wear the cloaks more convincingly IMHO.
